Happy 2010!!

I hope you all had a wonderful 2009! I know I sure did and I can't wait to experience what 2010 has to offer. To start off the year, I will be launching a new website & blog in the next month. And I have a little something special from the session below that I just cannot wait to share.
... All in due time...

In 2010, I want to remind you to cherish all that's around you. I know I want to keep in better contact with the ones I love, hug more, laugh more, relax more, and soak up every bit of this year that I can. I don't want to get to the end of 2010 and feel like it all went by too fast (like I do this year, and every other one.) I don't want to have any regrets and I truly plan to live every day to the fullest. Like I might not have another. That's what I want my life to represent.
So, cheers to a new year and may you be blessed in all you do!

TGIF Randomness...

I don't really have anything too specific to blog about today. I do have tons of awesome weddings & shoots to post, but finding the time is near to impossible. I have two more weddings for 2009 and then will have a little bit of a break before the 2010 season kicks in, which I am super stoked about - the break and the 2010 season. :) Right now I have 11 fabulous couples I'm working with and I can already tell 2010 is going to be another amazing year. Which brings me to the thought, if you are looking to book for 2010, please contact me soon. I am only commissioning 24 weddings and May is already booked full, and June is almost there. I am definitely counting my blessings during these economic times!!

On a more personal note, we had a great Thanksgiving. We got to see almost all of our families, and will get to see the rest of our siblings and families in December, which is pretty amazing considering we have 10 siblings all together... almost all with kids, so that doesn't happen to often in one holiday season. I'm so excited about these next few months... my birthday is next week, then Hanukkah, then Bryan and I will celebrate our 6th anniversary, New Years will be soon after, then Abi's bday in January, Bryan's in February and Elijah will turn 1 in March - only 4 months away. Life is going by way too fast and I'm just trying to do my best to soak it all in and count my blessings.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and continues to has a wonderful holiday season!! And a great weekend at that!

Anne + Ben: Married!!

I have a lot of sweet clients. I just do, and I am so thankful for that. But Anne is of a different world... of the most sweetest, like I don't know if you could make her mad if you tried. She's just that nice! And Ben, he is so gentle, and kind, and loving towards her. It's really touching to experience these two together and their undying love for each other. Their day was simple, beautiful and perfectly displayed the personalities of these two. I couldn't have imagined a more ideal day for Anne, and I am blessed I was a part of it! So on to the pics...

Rachel & Timmy: Married!

It seemed that every time I sat down to compose this post I was needed elsewhere... bruised knees, empty tummies, you know the norm :)
So it's not as soon as I'd like, but I hope the saying is true, "better late than never".
So, Rachel and Timmy had a beautifully perfect wedding day and I second shot for Kriea, which is always nothing short of fun.

They matched the wedding decor too. You think he meant to?? ;)

I love toast time. It's great to hear friend's stories and learn more about couples. Rachel's best friend and Timmy's brother shared hilarious stories of the two throughout their many years of dating. They even pulled out an old yearbook with funny notes and a Doodle Bear
with Rachel's affections towards Timmy.

Good thing she eventually thought he was hot again. lol. I just thought this was adorable!

Playin' Hooky

I'm not quite sure what to say... I don't really think sorry is good enough.
Somehow I've gotten overwhelmed and the blog slowly moved down the list of priorities. Not on purpose by any means because I love blogging, it's just been a bit difficult finding the right balance since adding another little one to our family. I have lists & lists of things I need to get done and I am slowly but surely lifting these weights off my shoulders. I LOVE what I do, I love all things photography, I especially enjoy anything that has to do with weddings, but I also love being a wife & mommy. This business of mine allows me to stay home with my children, and I don't want to lose focus of that huge blessing and not take advantage of it. My husband has also changed jobs and a lot is happening in our lives. All for the good though and I know and trust that God always has a plan. So please just bear with me while we transition through this time in our lives and enjoy our summer together.

I do have lots of great posts in store for the future and please don't give up on checking back here with me! Until next time...

Cydney + Danny: Wedding!

These two are some of the kindest people I know. Their wedding day was relaxed, enjoyable and went so smoothly. It did happen to rain an inch that morning, but it surely didn't stop us. It actually allowed Cydney and Danny to get their rings paid for by the Pray for Rain promotion by BC Clark. Not sure that it gets much better than that.

So here are their engagement and bridal photos first, then off to the wedding favorites. Kriea shot with me and helped out so much during that day so definitely go check out her photos as well.

Melissa + David: Engaged!!

Melissa & David are so so fun! David has the jokes and Melissa loves to laugh. It doesn't get more perfect than that. As you can see, Melissa always has a smile on her face and when I met her for the consultation I knew they would she would be awesome to work with.
Their session had to be rescheduled several times due to rain, but in the end the weather was superb and we couldn't have had a better time hanging out getting some awesome shots to showcase their love. So on to the photos...

Shelby + Chris: Wedding!

What can I say about Shelby & Chris, except that they exude pure awesomeness! No, seriously they do! I was fascinated with every single detail of this wedding, from the undeniably gorgeous flowers to the sparkly brooch on her wedding dress, right down to every single emotion expressed - happy tears and loud laughs. It was all perfection. Abi shot this wedding with me and I'm so glad she was able to be there with me. And oh my goodness did we come out with a tons of images, so here's just a few of my favorites and go check out her blog for more!!

We started out at a family friend's house for brunch.

So it's not 100% sharp. I love it anyway because I can just hear Shelby's laugh when I see it.

As the girls began to get ready, Shelby wrote out a letter to her parents to include in her thank you card. It had to be on lined paper because there was no way that little card could fit all her words of love and gratitude.

Bobbi Brown rocks! And so did her make-up artist, who is a friend that did amazing work!

I have such a desire to post more often on this blog. I do always intend to, and then life just takes over. I want to make a goal for myself to post at least 2 times per week. YES, Cassie is now Mrs. Robinson and I couldn't be more excited for her!

Isn't her jacket oh so cute! Abi, her maid of honor made that for her... and much more which I will share about in a minute.

Um, yeah... she's gorgeous and she get it from her momma!

So the picture above and the few below are of the stunning details created by Abi Martin. Yes that's right... she did Cassie's hair & makeup, made the cool feather hair peice, glued every rhinestone onto her very awesome pink heels, did all the flowers for the wedding, and even took a few photographs too. :) There may even be something I'm missing there too. Holla!

My son is...

Yep, that's right. He is so so adorable and blog worthy and I truly apologize for taking so long to get this up. As you can probably guess my life's been quite hectic lately, but we really are adjusting so well... it's as if he's always been here. It's an amazing feeling!

Thank you to my amazing friend Abi for the bib above that she purchased for us right after we found out we were pregnant as well as the images below she captured at the birth. I am so thankful you were willing and excited to do this for us. It means the world to me!!
Elijah was born Friday the 13th of March (yep, that's right!) at 9:52 am,
weighing in at 8 pounds 12 ounces and 21.5 inches long.

Everyone left to give us some time to rest (and go eat lunch) so when the nurse came in to take his bath, I was the one there to take pictures. ;) Doesn't take me long to get back to work. lol.

Fall Portraits: A Mega Post!

Fall is my favorite time of the year - PERIOD - Bar none! It's especially my favorite time to shoot - it's warm, but those frequent breezes are oh so comfy. I love the crisp air and the sunlight - OH the yummy sunlight with those gorgeous fall colors...
Okay, all of that to say - I love fall portrait sessions. It's always a nice break after the hectic wedding season and I just have the coolest families, how could I not love it! So, here are a few of my favs from my Fall Portrait Sessions. Enjoy & Don't forget to leave some comment love!

So Thankful!

Yesterday was such an eye opening day. My family was in a wreck and it's just made me so thankful that I have God in my life, his protection over my family,and his peace in my mind & heart.

The details, my in laws Margaret & Charles (who are another set of parents to me) were driving through Lawton (heading here from Altus) with my daughter when another driver had a seizure, ran over the median, and hit them head on. Abi was asleep, thank goodness, so she really didn't know the extent of what had happened or what she had gone through. She came out of it with just a bruise on her shoulder from the car seat & she says her chest is a little sore, but she has really been so good! The only thing that's affected her is how she saw her Papa with all the blood & what not,
but I think she has really handled the whole situation very well.
Family (after seeing the truck) has said that there had to have been a protective bubble around my daughter. It's amazing that the seats didn't hit her or glass didn't fly her way. The back seat looked untouched while the front was extremely terrible. She is a little miracle - they all are really.
Margaret thought she was fine at the time, but it ends up she broke her arm (a clean break which is good) from bracing herself when the wreck happened and her knee isn't too great, which was a problem for her already so that doesn't help. She is really suffering with quite some pain. Her arm couldn't be put in a cast at the ER so hopefully that will be taken care of & go well tomorrow at the doctor.
Charles on the other hand got it the worst. He is pretty banged up with bruises & cuts everywhere and has a bad gash on his head. He does has a sub dermal hematoma (a collection of blood - a bruise basically) on his head so they have him in ICU to monitor him to make sure nothing progresses with that. We're hoping that everything continues to check out okay and he is released tomorrow. I'm sure they will both continue to suffer with aches & pains for a while considering what their body has gone through. I believe the other couple ended up fine with some aches, pains & bruises as well, but nothing too serious.

I don't even know what to do but thank God everyone is alive.
From what I hear (since I didn't see) the vehicles looked pretty bad (definitely totaled) and the onlookers didn't expect anyone to come out nearly as good as they have. It's just so scary when you get that call. That feeling that overtakes your body knowing that something has happened to your family (especially your own child) - it's earth shaking. So, please be in prayer for my in laws that God will continue to heal & protect them. And please pray for Abi as well,
mainly that this is not a traumatic memory for her.

reminding yourself of what really matters in life.

Kacie + Adam: Married!

First I'd like to give a quick update to all my prospective clients. Prices are increasing for the 2009 year.... ugh I know, no fun! If you want to lock in the current prices your deposit must be received by January 17th.

Okay, now on to more fun things...

It was awesome to see these two unite because I went to school with both & cheered with Kacie. They are both such sweet souls. Their day had a tiny detour (RAIN), but their attitudes were awesome & everything continued on as planned. The evening ended up just perfect and I am blessed to have been able to be a part of their special celebration!

Five Years...

Friday December 19th my hubby and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. Five years. I really just cannot believe time has flown by that fast. So much has changed in our lives the past five years, yet I love him so much more than the day I married him (which I certainly thought was NOT possible!) He knows how to drive me crazy, BUT he also knows just how to tickle me or cheer me up when I'm down. He knows just what to say to encourage & push me when I need it. He knows how to even me out, and that is just what he does... he completes me!
He is certainly my better half!
So, Bryan, I want to publicly thank you for all that you do! For who you are as an individual, and who we are together as a team!! I am so thankful for the Father you are to our daughter, and the one you will soon be to our son. Thank you for loving me the way that you do and putting up with my craziness! You are an amazing man and I'm truly blessed that Yahweh placed you in my life! I cannot wait for many more years together and to grow old with you. I love you baby!

Since we were celebrating our anniversary, and really because so many things are changing in our lives, we had the one & only ABI ~ A Beautiful Image ~ come take our pics yesterday. Thank you Abi for giving me the images as soon as we took them and letting me go crazy with my own editing. It's so nice to have such amazing photog friends!!

This is one last simple picture of the three of us before we welcome another soul into our family. It is certainly an all time favorite of the 3 of us!

I got brave going outside to do this. It was only like, oh, say 40 degrees outside. This is just running out in my backyard for seriously a minute to capture some of that perfect light. I really am glad we did though because I don't know if I've ever seen sun flare that perfect. In fact I'm jealous I'm not the one who took them. ;)

And while I'm at it, I'd like to share a few head shots I did of ABI several weeks ago for some new & exciting stuff she will be debuting soon!

Still Here!!

In case you've been wondering, YES, I'm still alive!
I have been dreading posting, only because it would mean I would have to face the reality of how long it's been since my last post and, well, that would be embarrassing!

So, let's move on & not talk about that subject.
You're fine with that, right? RIGHT!

So, I want to just share a few personal things, and all that fun work stuff will be coming the next weeks.

First off, I just want to share some history. November 4th my father in law Charles Ortega was voted to be the state rep for District 52 (Altus - my hometown). This is SO exciting, not only just to see him accomplish this goal, but because he is the first Hispanic representative in the state of Oklahoma. Yeah, pretty cool huh!?!! So here are a few images from the watch party that night & also from his swearing in at the state capitol.

My idea was to take a pic with her Grandpas... she of course can't do anything the normal way. :)

Charles got to say a few words at the induction, and like most of the grandfathers & parents, he let his favorite little person introduce herself too.

The right one she is not having picture time (imagine that!), the left one shows what she loves most. Wonder who's child she is.... !!???

Here are some photos from our big Thanksgiving get together. My FAVORITE HOLIDAY!!! My family is so huge we rent out the Baptist Student Union to gather our families and pretty much have a reunion. It's always fun to catch up, and WOW this year my cousins really made me feel old. Several of them are graduating or are close, and it's just too weird for me that the little kids I used to babysit are now leaving home. Anyway, here's Abi playing on the trampoline with the big girls. Which makes us very nervous...

And me! I wish you could see my belly more... and then again maybe I don't. I don't think I necessarily look too nice here, but I posted it anyway because it really shows how I feel... TIRED! I am one of those crazy women who enjoy being pregnant, but this little boy is already taking the life out of me. Seriously, the smallest things exhaust me.
I must say, If this is any indication of the future, I am scared! ;)

I shot my last wedding of the year this past Saturday, and my goodness I couldn't have asked for a better one to end the year with. It was amazingly gorgeous, and well.... the post will be coming, not for a while though because I have several others to catch up on first. And just to add, Abi came along with me to 2nd shoot, and I couldn't be more grateful to have had someone with me (and especially my bff) because I don't know if I could've made it without her. THANK YOU my sweet friend! So here is a sneak peek of Shelby & Chris' wedding. I thought it was appropriate considering how FA-REEZING it is outside.

Also, I had a birthday last Thursday, which I'm only mentioning because I want to thank all of my sweet friends & family for the cards, emails, comments, and texts! I am truly blessed and thankful for every one of you!

I so should not even be awake right now. In fact, I've been doing quite well at going to bed a decent time, but tonight, well... it's just not going to happen tonight. I have a very busy week ahead of me & need to finish several things before I get too far. And of course, I'm a little obsessed with my new blog.
Do you love it, do you do you? I love it!! I haven't quite decided whether I like the grey background or want to find a design... I'm up for opinions. Also, do you like the bigger pictures. I actually didn't make them as big as I could to test it out, but I think I will definitely step it up a notch. AND... do you like the new picture border. I think it helps not to take away from the image too much, but let me know what you think honestly.

Meagan + Caleb: Engaged!

It's a rainbow kind of day

I love the saying, "Everyone must go through a storm to get to the rainbow." And boy has it spoken to me lately because my family & I have definitely been trekking through the storm the past few weeks, and today the rainbow has arrived. It's just one of those can't keep the smile off your face kind of days. One of those days where it all clicks & you see what God was doing all along. Can I just say real quick God is Good! His love overflows and amazes me everyday and that has been our Rock throughout this time of struggle. So, on to several things I have to share.

First off, the debut of Baby Beane #2!!!

Abbi wasn't near as impressed by this experience as I thought she'd be, but it was still amazing. It was that moment that made everything real.

Just in case I haven't expressed this, I love the company I work with for my press products & just wanted to share my new sample Engagement Guest Book as well as Sienna's 5x5 brag book. These are products that you'll definitely want to invest in & will make great Holiday/Birthday - Whatever gifts! :)

We went down to the fair the other night & Abbi had a blast on all of the rides. Enjoy some images from that entertaining trip. (Mostly taken by Bryan)

I 2nd shot Hilary & Allen's awesome day with the lovely Kriea Arie! When I showed up to shoot some of the girl's getting ready, every single one of them were nothing short of absolute sweethearts! And then I headed to capture the guys getting ready, and well that was another story..... only KIDDING!!! Everyone involved in this wedding was so loving & welcoming, and every detail was stunning! Nothing short of a perfect day, and as I got to know Hilary & Allen I knew these are two people that deserve that... and then some!

Jack Johnson Experience

I remember it like it was yesterday. Bryan and I had just gotten engaged, and he had to take a work trip to Houston with his brother. It was hard for us to be apart considering the excitement of what had just happened in our lives. So we called often and talked into the wee hours of the night. One evening he called me, "Kelly, you have to listen to this, I know you're going to love it!" And I did, and it was none other than Jack Johnson's voice singing Tomorrow Morning over the phone to me. (okay, it was the cd player, but that's how I felt ;) Couldn't be a more perfect song, huh!?! Friends had been telling Bryan for years he had to check him out, but for some odd reason he never did. It was divine, and I'll never forget it. And right then and there my obsession with Jack Johnson began!

So, let me just say real quick I love Jack's music because it's truth. He sings of what's real, scary or not. Love - it's hard, but we still fight for it, War - the battles we fight in this world, as well as within ourselves, Peace - we can make this happen, People - oh how our ways are strayed, what we "value", Television & media & how corrupt it is, etc. etc. etc. I could go on & on about the ways he has expressed what's on my mind in such a touching way. Music is the soundtrack to our lives, and if only I could count the amount of times a Jack Johnson song has been the perfect music to accompany a scene of my life. It's so divine to me.

So now, fast forward 6 years from when I heard that first song, and I have the opportunity to go to a Jack Johnson concert! Um, YEAH!!
I make the trek with Abi, and oh my so many awesome things happened!!
I can't even begin to express my excitement from the events we experience on this page. Words can't do it justice. If only you could be there hearing our screams, and singing to the tops of our lungs, and our big HUGE corny smiles. Yeah, you would've been entertained for sure! :)
So I will go ahead with pictures. We couldn't bring our cameras in (ugh!) so we only have pics from Abi's awesome phone, but it works!

Waiting in line to be the first 5,000 so we can get a wrist band to be in the pit.

Which we did get our wristband, after fighting through a sweaty nasty mob. I get chills thinking about how nasty it was now. After we conquer that feat, we head to a small stage behind the stage for a secret concert we heard about. Hmmmmm..... who could it be?

It's Zach Gill from ALO!! He just released a solo album, which is AMAZING! He is so fun, and an awesome entertainer! I fell in love with his music, so definitely go check him out! (BTW he's also the piano player, back up singer, random instrument player for Jack:)

Then he announces that he is going to bring out his good friend..............
JACK JOHNSON! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
We could not believe it. I mean we're at a stage with 50 other people, only 10 feet away!!
It was like our own personal show. Amazing!!!

Then we got to meet, chat with, get autographs & take a picture with Zach Gill.
SO COOL!!!!

And he didn't just sign my bag, he drew this cute little self portrait. I have to say I felt special!

Then we headed down to work our way through the mob in the pit. It wasn't easy, but we ended up direct center, right in front of Jack, only about 4 rows back in people. Amazing once again!

Let me also say before we headed to the pit we stopped at the photo booth & took pics, cause we're corny like that. Right before the show they displayed about 15 pictures on the big screen from the booth, and yeah, WE were one of them! A picture of us on the big huge screen in front of 50,000 people. It was kind of cool, and just another thing to add to our amazing list of what had happened that night.

I highly recommend you check out Jack's website to see all the great things he's doing to help our environment & make this world a better place.

It was a once in a lifetime experience for sure, and I will never forget it!
Abi, thanks for going & making it so fun, awesome, crazy, etc!!! I love you girl!!!

Erin + Jamie: Engaged!

Erin & Jamie met both as gymnasts attending OU. How cool is that!? I tried to get them to do some images in the gym, Jamie wouldn't succumb to the idea though. No biggie, we got tons of other awesome images around the OU campus & campus corner. Free to Succeed Tour - Dallas

As soon as we saw the announcement on Jasmine Star's blog, we were on it... buying tickets within the hour (which also guaranteed us a discount). But we knew this would be BIG!! If even we only met Jasmine* & David Jay, that would be worth it all!!
But seriously, I cannot even explain the experience I had a week ago in Dallas. Kriea, Abi and I drove down for the Free to Succeed tour, and after the first 30 minutes Abi turned to me and said, "Wow, I already got my money's worth right there!" And I couldn't have agreed more.
I learned ways to edit quicker and more efficiently, and well I could use some help in that area. I learned more about pricing and to really value myself and what I do. I learned about websites, networking, and and and... I could really go on forever. David Jay did a perfect job at explaining the technical part of the business, and Jasmine, oh dear Jasmine she can inspire you with her dang smile, it makes me sick. Seriously though, they both made the perfect team, and I couldn't have asked for a better time in my life and business to have heard them both speak.
So THANK YOU J* and DJ!! You truly made my night, week, YEAR!!!!

Kelsey + Ryan: Married Pt2

I love love love this couple! I have to tell you, Kelsey is THE sweetest person I know.
Seriously, the nicest, sweetest in the world. And it was such an honor to shoot their wedding day
and all the festivities surrounding the special day! I'm going to start this first post out with the

Hello! It's been too long!
I have a few things to share.

First off, I just want to let my potential & current clients that my website is undergoing
a bit of construction. It really needs to be updated, and I started the process, but finishing
it seems to be a bit impossible right now. So right now there are no engagement sessions, but
of course you can come to the blog to check out current work as well. I do plan
on having it finished within the next month.

Secondly, I am now offering a new kind of engagement
book that I am SO excited about! They are lay flat coffee table books,
sleek like a panorama album, but half the cost. Here are some images from Brandi
& Brook's book to give you a peek! Brides, if you are not doing this, you should!
What a fun & unique way to have your guests sign in. They get to see your images, you
have a gorgeous book to share later, and imagine all the fun notes you'll get.

Yep, that's right!!!!! We are soooooo excited, if you couldn't tell. :)
I have not been feeling well lately with morning (more like all day) sickness.
And the smallest things make me exhausted, but I am really looking forward
to the 2nd trimester when I get all of my energy back. This is my explanation for
my absence from the blog, but be expecting a lot in the next few days (or even
tonight while I have an energy splurge)...
a birthday party, head shots, two weddings & a rehearsal dinner.
Whew, that made me a little nervous.

AND my last little bit of news. My parents are leaving to Africa tomorrow for my Dad's
like 6th and my Mom's first mission trip. Your thoughts & prayers will
be greatly appreciated as they travel and do the work of Yahweh.

Jenni & Brady: Married!

So, Jenni & Brady are such a cool, laid back couple. They both stayed
extremely calm, relaxed, and overall I believe had the perfect day!!!
I went to high school with Jenni, so I was ecstatic to be involved in
her & Brady's most special day!
Every detail was perfect, and the party was, well, quite the party!
And i will just let the images speak for themselves....

Her bouquet, and her grandparents rings on it were just gorgeous!!

Tara & Jason are Married!

Tara & Jason are the coolest! Their actual wedding date (this was just a ceremony) was December 19th... same as my anniversary. Jason is about 6 years older than Tara... same here. It's really funny how many little things we have in common. :)
Their special ceremony took place at Fossil Creek Ranch, which was such a pretty site (if only it hadn't been so hot). Tara and her family did everything themselves, which was very impressive. Here are some images to show you...

Laura & Brandon: Part Dos

They just cannot get enough of me, I guess!! :)

Laura had an idea... something that she wanted.
And when Laura wants something, well, she gets it. ;) (I love you girl!!!)
Really what she craved was sunlight!! And this time she wore the color yellow, and they walked through the lake water, dug their toes in the sand as they kissed....
and well, nothing could have been more perfect!! Nothing more Brandon & Laura -ish!

Whitney & Trevor: Married!!

I remember when I received my first phone call from Whitney...
The excitement in her voice pumped me up. I knew she was going to be awesome to
work with, and her & Trevor have not let me down!
This couple couldn't be more beautiful, and their wedding day just the same.
Whitney worked so hard to make sure every single detail was flawless, and it certainly was....
down to the 15 page book she had for everyone involved to abide by. :)
Seriously though, I think this wedding might just be my favorite when it comes to details.

Lindsey & Clint: Engagement

Hello my dear blog. Oh, how I've missed you....

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in so long... it feels a bit foreign to be typing into this
little blogger box, but I've got an awesome post for you guys!

Clint is Brandi's brother. So I will be shooting two weddings from this family this year,
and I am so excited to be a part of both!
I met with Clint & Lindsey on a perfect (yes, I mean perfect) day to shoot. No Oklahoma wind, the weather was warm, but very nice & comfortable, the lighting was really heavenly,
I have to mention this, because really this doesn't happen too often here, considering that the wind today is 25-35 mph, but could gust over 50 mph.
FIFTY miles per hour.
And it's not even storming, Ca-razy!

Because I'm a dum dum.

I lost my phone. My lifeline.
That may sound dramatic to you, but seriously... I am a woman!

No worries though, it's already found... in my in-laws vehicle,
once they returned home... only two hours away.
And we're leaving on a 10 hour trip to
Port Aransas, TX tomorrow.
They are fed-exing it to me, but until then

First, I must warn you...
this is a full family of stunning blue eyes. No.... seriously!
This is the most beautiful family, inside and out, and I was ecstatic when Cara
contacted me to shoot their family portraits.
The children were lively and oh so sweet, the adults were so fun to hang out with,
and well, the lighting and weather was perfect. (except for my allergy attack towards the end) ...crazy Okie cotton. :)
Everything went just as I had hoped, and I am sooooooo excited about sharing these images.

Saylor is 9 months!!

Cute little Baby Saylor has grown SOOOO much since our last session!
I had found a field of flowers on the edge of Norman I had wanted to take Abbi (and I did), but when I chatted when Saylor's Mommy about her session, I knew this field would be perfect.
And it was! The weather was beautiful, Saylor was darling & oh so sweet! And well, the images will show you that everything about this session couldn't have gone better!

The Nick Gibson Band

Seriously guys, The Nick Gibson Band is the next big thing!!!
They just opened up for Kenny Chesney & LeAnn Rimes
at the Ford Center, so it is truly an honor to showcase them on my blog.
I wasn't able to make the show, but I hear it was absolutely fabulous!

So, a few weeks ago I took a trip up to Stillwater for the Calf Fry to shoot their
live performance, which, might I add, was awesome!!

Everything about this session was ideal!!
We were afraid we might have to cancel at first, with the rain & huge storm cloud
hovering above downtown. BUT I am so glad we didn't.
The cloud dissipated, and we moved on.
The weather was perfect, lighting was superb, the couple was beautiful,
and their love is so amazing & real...
I couldn't have asked for better circumstances to do an engagement session.

I cannot tell you how sweet this family is, but I knew they would be...being a friend of Melanie's.

I met them at their beautiful home to get in a lifestyle session of the family, and of course some newborn photos. Little Baby Campbell gave me baby fever badly, and I had so much fun capturing Carter's FUN toddler personality.

Abbi Update

So, I haven't posted any pics of Abbi lately. :) And I know you all are dying for one, right!?

A few weeks ago I headed downtown Norman to shoot some textures, and the good 'ol Abbers came along. We, of course, had to get in a mini shoot while we were at it, and may I say I am quite impressed with my daughter's modeling skills. You know, she it from her momma tho. ;)

...Really, I am so impressed because at 3 years she is already tired of my camera.
Boy do we have a long way to go...

So, I'm almost caught up...
I had 6 sessions & a wedding all in the same weekend...whew!
Here is Carly. She's so cute! Always all smiles and really obeys her Mommy & Daddy! :)
To say the least, I was impressed! We shot at the Imagination Station in Altus on a
(you guessed it...) windy day! :)

Laura & Brandon {Love at the Lake}

So much of Laura & Brandon's time together was spent at the lake, so it was only appropriate to start their engagement session there. We were hoping for warm weather and sun, but unfortunately I don't control the weather, so we had low temperatures and fog. No worries, it didn't stop us. We started at the lake and ended up coming up with several other really COOL spots, so check out their images...

Laura & Brandon: Wow, what can I say?!? First, thank you for your friendship to me & my family! You two have really touched our lives! Second, thank you for allowing me to document your love. You two crack me up (like always!) and I can't wait for your wedding this August.
(I will be a bridesmaid, but my awesome & talented friend ABI will be shooting it!)

We made a stop in Blair on the way back to Altus.
It had some really cool spots, and I especially liked this blue wall.

Then on to a few alley ways in Altus. Brandon showed me this spot, and I fell in love!

It was really neat to shoot in Altus (my hometown) & the surrounding areas. You get a different perspective when shooting, and it really made me appreciate the unique beauty that part of Oklahoma holds. BUT I won't be moving back

Jill & Jarod's Wedding

So, here it is all you Altusans! :)
Jill & Jarod were wed at the Quartz Mountain Lodge. The day turned out beautiful!!
Of course, there was some good 'ol Oklahoma wind, but it wouldn't be an outdoor wedding without that, right!? This wedding was especially neat, because I know & grew up with Jarod.
It was so awesome to see him join hearts with the amazingly beautiful & SO sweet Jill!!
J&J - Thank you so much for allowing me to document your fantastic day!

Maeghan & Jeremy {Country Love}

I'm sure Maeghan & Jeremy laughed at me when I pulled up lookin' like a city girl. They made fun as I pranced around in the tall grass afraid that a snake (or something) might get me. But I put my ego aside, and I'm sure glad I did, because this images are off the hook. Okay, really, can you tell I'm excited!?!?
I cannot remember the name of the pasture (could you give me that Maeghan?), but it was gorgeous!! There were old barns, outhouses, etc. dropped about the land randomly. It couldn't have been more Maeghan & Jeremy! Seriously! And they brought their beautiful horses. Basically, what I'm trying to say is:
Maeghan & Jeremy, I had so much fun!! I am so glad you had this place for us to shoot at! Your engagement guest book is going to be AWESOME!!! :) You two are so beautiful, sweet, & fun, and I cannot wait for your wedding in September!
